"In the Field" was painted en plein-air (in the open air) in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Not long after a farmer went through the field with a tractor and wagon, a flock of birds settled in the field for an afternoon snack. The wonderful thing about plein-air painting is that you get to experience a moment of time in every day life, and then express it with paint.
